The renovated Gevaert-Minne Museum, protected property since 1996, is the previous home of painter, poet, composer and writer Edgar Gevaert. Being beautifully located in a wooded domain of 3 hectares. The current collection tells the story of the great classics period of the Lys-village Latem. It encompasses masterpieces of the early explorers (Xavier De Cock), the first Group of Latem (Valerius De Saedeleer, George Minne, Albijn Van den Abeele, Gustave van de Woestyne), Albert Servaes being an in-between generation artist and the second Group of Latem
(Leon and Gust De Smet, Constant Permeke, Maurice Sijs, Frits Van den Berghe). In the ‘Schaapsstal’ (sheep shed) there are occasionally temporary exhibitions or readings with a relation to Sint-Martens-Latem.
