In the year 1930 the area was full of villa construction. One of the first villa’s was in ‘Heidebossen’. In Sint-Martens-Latem, there was the estate of architect Oscar Pintelon (°1905-†1986), whose  ‘Villa Pintelon’ was bult in the year 1934. This villa is a remarkable construction of bricks and concrete with switching volumes under the flat roofs. Stylistic, the villa is very illustrative for the modernism during the interbellum, period between World War I and II. The interior and the furniture have also mostly remained the same.
