Deinze poppoplein B.ad.

In the centre of Deinze, you’ll come across the decanal Church of Our Lady along the banks of the Lys. The church is built in the Scheldt-gothic style. The interior mostly dates back to the 17th century. The oakwood coping with built in confession chairs, a baptism chapel in Louis XV style and the Van Peteghem Organ all attract attention. In the churchtower, in the year 1988, a major third carillion was added. For centuries people of Deinze have been able to enjoy the chimes of the carillon up in the bell tower situated in the middle of the 850 meters long market square. At the moment of writing the carillon has 48 bells and weights a total of 4.506 kg of pur bronze.
