The old farm ‘Gampelaere’ in the ‘Gampelaeredreef’, in Deinze/Astene, still has a recognizable upper court – lour court structure. This farm was the property of Joos Vijdt and his spouse Elizabeth Borluut in 1430. They are pictured as assigners on the world-famous painting ‘The Mystic Lamb’ painted by Jan and Hubert Van Eyck. The importance of the site became more clear during the 18th century, when three different roads were constructed.
